A sequential training pathway
The programme moved from basic tool use to more complex interactive lessons and, eventually, preparing teachers to train colleagues. Upper-level courses assumed that participants had completed the earlier stages and had practical experience with the software.

Lesson design and assessment
The original courses paired software instruction with examples from the curriculum. They also covered learner response systems, questioning techniques and reviewing student responses.
Software skills and teaching decisions were treated together: teachers needed to choose a useful activity, organise the flipchart and decide what the student response would tell them.
